What a perfect wedding day! It’s so special getting to see my friends get married and documenting it for them! I’m so happy for you, Kimberly & Sam!

I can actually thank Sam for where I am today as a photographer. He was the Photo Editor who hired me for my first job as a photojournalist for the university newspaper, just a few weeks after I started college at Texas Tech. He taught 18 year-old me a lot about photographing events and sports, and he was one of my first friends in Lubbock.

It was pretty cool to see him again and to meet his (now) wife Kimberly, who is the perfect match for him.

Kimberly & Sam met in Lubbock a few months before he planned to move to Oregon for a job. When it came time for him to leave, they knew they had something special, and they decided to stay together and date long-distance. This was obviously the right choice, because 5 years later, they made it through living thousands of miles apart and are now married!

They fell in love with McPherson Cellars for it’s colorfully painted walls, quirky decor, and rooms with beautiful light… and so did I! The venue matched their style really well and was the perfect venue for the wedding they wanted to feel like a party.

Kimberly looked gorgeous in her dress, which featured a unique neckline and a floral skirt. (If you love her dress as much as I do, go check out her bridals that we took the day before!)

They had friends and family from across Texas and across the country come to celebrate with them. Together they danced at their Reception to the soundtrack of oldies and classic hits that everyone could sing along to.

Congratulations, Kimberly & Sam! I know you’re having fun enjoying married life and traveling Europe right now!
