This is why I love photographing proposals… It’s the culmination of all of the planning, consideration, and secrets into one moment. It’s the surreal experience, the candid emotion, and the tears.
I need to blog today’s #MarryMeMonday, because it’s too good! Alec reached out to me a couple months ago, explaining his plan to propose to his girlfriend Sloane while she was in Austin for a girls trip with her friends. They live in Dallas, so being in Austin was the perfect cover.
Alec asked Sloane’s best friend to deliver her to the Zilker Botanical Garden. At the entrance, she found a sign that said “Sloane, are you ready to take the next step? If so, follow the signs”. She walked through the garden, following three more signs to a long path. In the distance, she could see Alec standing under a waterfall. As she walked toward him, they both cried.
He proposed to the sound of rushing water and a violinist. It was magical
The second surprise came when Alec pointed to their parents, walking down the path toward them. There were plenty of tears from their parents too.
Sloane was clearly in a state of shock, and Alec looked like a thousand pounds had been lifted from his shoulders! Next, Alec & Sloane were whisked away in a limo. And where was the limo headed? A surprise party, of course! At Moonshine, friends and family from around the country had gathered to celebrate them.
Alec put so much thought and time into his proposal, and he created a truly incredible experience for Sloane.
