Red and Black. Penguins.
That’s how Andrea and Eric described the style of their wedding before their big day back in July. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it their description turned out to be spot on!
This was a special wedding for me because I’ve known these two for a very long time. I first met Andrea at the start of my freshman year at Texas Tech. We met at band camp (yes, get your jokes in now) before the school year even started. She was a junior and also a saxophone player, and she quickly became a sort of mentor for me and several other freshmen, some of whom I’m still good friends with today, and one of whom is now my husband! We spent many afternoons (and late nights) hanging out at Andrea’s house and figuring out how to “do” college.
I met Eric the next year after he transferred to Texas Tech and joined the tenor sax section in the Goin’ Band. It was a small section of about 10 people, so we got to know each other pretty well. It was a few years before the two of them started dating, but there is no doubt that they are perfect for each other. Their quirky and goofy personalities are so fun to be around and everyone at their wedding had a blast because of it.
This was a large wedding with many family members from both sides, but even more noticeably, SO many friends! It was really cool to see them each reconnect with friends that they’ve kept throughout their lives. It clear that they’ve both had such an impact on everyone they’ve met, from high school to college and beyond.
Andrea spent the whole day telling everyone how beautiful they looked. How backwards is that?! But that’s just the type of person she is – always thinking about other people and making them feel their best.
Ok, that’s enough blabbing about how great these two are. Enjoy some photos from their wedding day at The Springs in Georgetown!
