Earlier this summer, I held a Free Session Giveaway for a couple of engagement sessions. After a few minutes of looking through Brooke’s Instagram, I knew her and Cole would be picked as my first set of winners! I knew this session would be fun, because I’d never photographed someone with blue hair, and I’d never photographed a couple with such a big height difference (Brooke is 5’3 and Cole is 6’7!).
When deciding on a location for their session, Brooke mentioned that she loved colored walls, cool arches, stairs, and the city skyline – so Auditorium Shores came to mind as the perfect spot…and it was! This has been a favorite location of mine for a while. Every time I come, I try to venture to a new area and look at it with a new perspective, and this time was no exception.
While walking around the park, I asked Cole to tell me about how he proposed, and it turned out to be one of the best proposal stories I’ve ever heard. Last year, the two of them went on a spontaneous trip to the Grand Canyon. Cole had always wanted to take a helicopter ride over the canyon, and when they came across the opportunity to do it at the last minute, they took the trip a few hours later. When they were over canyon, he surprised Brooke with a ring (a blue one of course).
Brooke & Cole are getting married on Saint Patrick’s Day in 2018. Enjoy your long engagement, guys!
