When Kayla first contacted me about photographing her wedding, I was really excited! I specifically remember Kayla and her (then) boyfriend Tyler from Meagan & Jeff’s wedding last fall. They were among a group of Red Raider wedding guests, gathered around a Reception table watching bits and pieces of the Texas Tech football game that was happening that night.

So when Kayla reached out to me, I was so happy to hear that her and Tyler are now engaged and planning their own wedding!

Kayla & Tyler actually knew each other in high school but really connected in college, and have now been together for over 7 years!  So when deciding on an engagement session location in Lubbock, Texas Tech’s campus was the top choice. It’s where their relationship began and where they’ve made many memories. Plus, the campus is beautiful, and you just can’t beat that West Texas winter sunlight. It’s in its own category of pretty.

And speaking of that… Kayla & Tyler were so fun to hang out with and SO awesome behind the camera. Kayla’s stunning smile lets you know exactly how happy Tyler makes her… really happy!

We also stopped by their venue to take a few photos with the setting sun. Horseshoe Knot Event Center was the perfect choice for the rustic yet elegant wedding they’re planning.

Kayla & Tyler, thank you for letting me play a small part in your story, and for giving Matt and I a reason to visit Lubbock (where our story began as well!) Can’t wait for your wedding later this year!
