2 Things I Learned While Rebranding

8/31/18

Running a photography business involves spending about 10% of my time shooting photos & editing photos and 90% of my time doing everything else. Emailing, marketing, learning in online business courses, and all of the behind-the-scenes work is how I spend most of my time. Lucky for me, I enjoy those parts a lot!

For the last year or so, I’ve planned to create a new website and use that as an opportunity to rebrand. The longer you have a business, the more time you spend asking yourself where you want your business to go and what you want your clients’ experience to be. While I’m working on my business every day, these questions are always running through my head, and the answers have become more and more defined.

Over the last several months, I’ve been writing, planning, designing, and working hard to bring the new brand to life! There are new colors, a new logo, a new website, and big plans for the future of the newsletter.

Now that the new website has been unveiled, I’m sharing the main two things I learned while rebranding. Surprisingly, this isn’t about colors, or logos, or anything you’d imagine when you hear the word “branding”. It’s about YOU.

#1 You guys are the best.

I spent a lot of time thinking about my clients and remembering some of the best very best moments from working with couples and seniors at portrait sessions and on wedding days. What I realized is, MY CLIENTS ARE AWESOME. Really, you guys are the ones who make me so excited to work, and you’re the ones who inspire me, and give me ideas that keep me up all night (literally). So thank you!

#2 Most importantly, I want us to have fun.

After wrapping up a photography session, one of the main takeaways I want all of my couples and seniors to have is that getting their photo taken was FUN. Because if we’re not having fun, than what are we doing? Are you on the same page?

So many of the people I work with are in really important stages of life, and while that’s great, it can also be stressful. I want to make sure I help my clients see the very BEST parts of what they’re going through and remember for years to come how exciting this time is.

How can I do that? Through working hard to give every one of you the best possible experience I can. That’s a goal of mine that encompasses every part of what I do.

I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to see some behind-the-scenes of what I’ve been working on for the last several months. Take a look around the new website and let me know what you think!
