“What! What!! What is happening??”

Natalie thought she was meeting up with her friends McKenna and Alexa for brunch at the Austin Country Club, but when Alexa said they needed to go somewhere first, Natalie didn’t think much of it.

They drove through the winding roads of the country club and parked at the end of a cul-de-sac that stopped at the edge of a creek. Over the rushing water of the creek was an old bridge. The three of them got out of the car and walked toward the bridge, where Natalie was totally SHOCKED to find Matt waiting for her, surrounded by roses.

I’ve never seen someone so caught off-guard, speechless, and happy.

She nervously and excitedly walked toward him, crying already. He smiled at his future-wife, knowing that the moment he’d been planning for months was finally happening.

There’s something contagious about seeing two people so happy, and it was honestly one of my favorite moments I’ve ever photographed.

I think the surprise was hitting her in waves and each time she looked down at the beautiful, pear-shaped ring on her finger, it made her freak out again and again. I love that! 😂

After the proposal, while we were taking a few portraits, we were interrupted by another surprise… their families! Natalie and Matt’s parents were there to celebrate with them, and because Matt’s parents live in Florida, it was a BIG surprise for her to see them!

It was such a fun proposal, and Matt did an incredible job of planning such a perfect day for Natalie and their families (who had never actually met in person before this weekend).

What an amazing way to begin their engagement. Congratulations, to Natalie & Matt!
