Sonali & Shawn’s destination engagement photos are on the blog! 🎉🎉

I first met Sonali & Shawn last March when Shawn proposed during a weekend trip in Austin. They met while in business school at Duke University and now live on the opposite coast in San Fransisco. When they asked if I’d be willing to meet them in North Carolina to take their engagement photos in the city where they first met, I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough!

We took photos over the course of two days, beginning in formal clothes on Sunday afternoon and visiting Duke Gardens, Duke Chapel, Brightleaf Square in downtown Durham, and their favorite bar, Alley Twenty Six. On Monday morning, we continued shooting (this time in more casual clothes) on Duke’s campus!

It rained nearly all day on Sunday, but luckily the rain stopped just long enough for us to take photos in the afternoon. Perfect timing!

I had the best time exploring Durham and letting Sonali & Shawn show me their favorite spots while telling me stories about going to Duke (which, by the way, is the most incredible campus! I couldn’t believe how awesome the architecture is.)
