The Orr wedding! I’ve been looking forward to this day ever since we took Lauren & Sam’s engagement photos last Spring. They were incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and told me they were really excited about their wedding photography. That’s exactly what I like to hear!
When we took Lauren’s bridal portraits, I got another peek into how beautiful of a bride Lauren would be. On her wedding day, she radiated even more happiness and love for Sam.
And I know Sam felt the same way. He has a hard time hiding his giddiness when Lauren is around, and their connection is pretty amazing. You can see it in their photos! Their family and friends can see it too, which made the Orr wedding a ton of fun.
It rained all morning, and it was colder outside than anyone predicted it would be, but Lauren & Sam didn’t let that stop them from having the outdoor ceremony they always wanted! The rain cleared just in time, and we had beautiful light during the ceremony and portraits afterward.
One of my favorite moments of the day was Sam’s reaction to Lauren walking down the aisle. They chose to do an around-the-corner first look (or a “no look first look”) before the ceremony, and it was totally the right call for them. As Sam waited for Lauren to arrive, he actually faced the opposite direction to avoid seeing her before she appeared at the end of the aisle.
The night ended with a reception dance circle like I’ve never seen before. A crowded gathered around Sam, who was jumping around and dancing by himself. And then he started breakdancing and doing cartwheels in the middle of the circle! As the song continued, he pointed to guests, who one by one, entered the circle and did a cartwheel too! It was hilarious, and I’m so impressed with how many guests accepted his cartwheel challenge!
Lauren & Sam, thanks for inviting me to celebrate alongside you and to photograph your incredible day!
