Yes, you read the title correctly…we took Lauren & Matt’s engagement photos at the incredible North Cascades National Park in Washington!

Lauren & Matt have been together for over 5 years and have been dating long-distance nearly half of that time. They met at Texas A&M, and after they graduating with their undergrad degrees, their careers sent them in opposite directions (physician assistant school for Lauren and the military for Matt). Now, she’s finishing up school in Texas, and he’s living near Seattle, but they make time to visit each other about once a month.

The stars really aligned to make this shoot happen 🌟 When Lauren first contacted me and told me that Matt is living in Seattle, I told her that I already had a trip to Seattle planned to attended The Heart Workshop (more on that in another blog post)! I was so excited that she was able to fly to Washington to visit him that same weekend!

We met up about an hour from North Cascades and road-tripped together the rest of the way through the mountains. The view along the highway was amazing, but Lauren & Matt were even more entertaining in the front seats. Matt bought a cinnamon roll for breakfast, and Lauren fed it to him bite by bite as he drove us. This cinnamon roll was GIANT, so it took like 30 minutes to eat. So cute. 🤣

We drove through the park, stopping at scenic spots along the way and ending at the legendary Diablo Lake. It was a truly magical day, and I’m happy that Lauren & Matt have these fun photos and memories while they have to stay long-distance for a while longer before their wedding.

They’re getting married next year in San Angelo, and I can’t wait!!
