It’s the first #MarryMeMonday🥂 of 2022! And of course, the first story of the year needs to be BIG, so I’m sharing Sharwin’s recent proposal to Julie!

Way back in July, he contacted me to start planning his proposal. Julie & Sharwin became friends during their undergrad at UT and started dating while they were both in medical school in Houston. Now, they’ve been together for over 4 years, and they’re living in Austin again!

We considered several locations before finally choosing a gorgeous home rental on Peerspace. (I highly recommend booking a home for your proposal! They’re totally private and unique.) The backyard of the home had a colorful southwestern style and an incredible view of the hill country. The decorations that Sharwin added made the space even better.

Julie arrived with a friend, thinking they were going to a birthday party. When she walked through the back gate and saw Sharwin standing in an empty backyard, she was totally shocked. They danced to their favorite song (Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran) before walking down to the overlook, where a balloon covered arch framed the sunset.

When Sharwin dropped to his knee and proposed, it’s easy to tell from the look on Julie’s face just how surprised and happy she was. And afterward, when a big group of friends and family suddenly appeared behind them, she was surprised again!

Sharwin created an incredible and memorable experience for Julie. It was elaborate, but more importantly, he designed every detail thoughtfully. What a perfect way to start their engagement.
